William C. Hinner, 78, 8111 Birch St., Weston died Saturday March 6, 2010 at home surrounded by his family under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

He was born Nov. 2, 1931 in Wausau to the late Ernest and Wilma ‎(Hintz)‎ Hinner. Bill served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and has been affiliated with the Mosinee Branch of the VFW. He married Rita Kaziak on May 21, 1955 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Schofield, she died in 1995.

Bill farmed all his life on the family homestead and also worked at Weyerhaeuser Paper Co. prior to his retirement. He enjoyed raising beef cattle, playing cards, teasing his grandchildren and storytelling.

Dad will be remembered as a unique individual who would often refer to himself the, "Ol'WhitAshe". As the family provider he worked two jobs and instilled in his children, "If you aren't going to do it right, don't do it at all." Hard work mixed with love and laughter was life on the farm.

The kid in him liked to drag race his Dodge truck and smoke the tires every once in awhile. He will also be remembered for his love of his Allis Chalmers tractors and his purple Dodge truck , being a proud Democrat, playing sheepshead with his friends, and making hay on the farm. Most recently Dad became known for his award-winning homemade banana cream pies. Dad loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren having a special bond with them all. All of his children and grandchildren were able to share in his final days, especially his son John"Doc" who assumed the role of Dad's care provider.
